I'm a Cancer

I'm a Cancer...
I wear a shell on my exterior to keep me from feeling inferior...
And vulnerable from what's on the inside; emotions that roar like the oceans; so, behind my exterior is where they hide.
From time to time I've opened my shell, and every time it has hurt like Hell. For, this is the real me; where you can poke and prode and mold me with ease. Until I find myself bruised and broken, needing time to heal; I cover back up so I no longer feel.
My shell; myself it will protect. My shell, so I can disconnect.
